Kathleen Womansong, LPC, LCDC & Michelle McLin, LPC announce an 8 week therapy group  to address your feelings about the election and what it means going forward. We will partner with you to help you get back to a place of BALANCE and CALM while remaining conscientious about what is happening in politics and the community.

FROM NEGATIVITY AND ANGER TO MINDFUL ACCEPTANCE - Learn how to redirect our thoughts and emotions to embrace positive acceptance.

FROM FEAR ABOUT THE FUTURE TO LIVING IN THE HERE AND NOW - Reduce anxiety and strengthen your sense of inner calmess even when it seems like everything around you is in turmoil.


MICHELLE MCLIN, LPC

Michelle collaborates with clients to develop an inner sense of well-being by learning practical coping and self-management skills as well as refining personal values to achieve a more meaningful life. Michelle has 25 years of professional counseling experience including 17 years in private practice as a psychotherapist.


KATHLEEN WOMANSONG, LPC, LCDC

Kathleen is the owner of Compassion for Self: A private practice created to promote the essential truth that when we treat ourselves with kindness and respct, we are able to give from an overflow of compassion to others. Kathleen has a Master's degree in Education from the University of Houston and holds two professional licenses to counsel in Texas.

 WHO - If you are experiencing anxiety, anger, uncertainty or other negativre emotions since the election of 2016, this group may be for you.  

WHAT - All group members are required to participate in a brief (30 minute) One-to-One session with Michelle or Kathleen prior to the first session (January 18th). The purpose of this session is to help determine if this group is a best fit for your needs.     

HOW MUCH - The price of the One-to-One session and all 8 Group Therapy Sessions totals $360.00. Clients who pay in full by January 18th will receive a 10% discount.

WHEN/WHERE - Eight group therapy sessions will be held on Wednesday evenings from 7:00 to 8:30 pm beginning on January 18, 2017 At  SOL Healing and Wellness Center 13805 Ann Place  Ausitn, TX 78728. 

Depending on community interest, additional groups may be formed to meet at a time and place TBD. Please contact us to let us know your interest and we will keep you informed about additional groups.

Are you beating yourself up?

Did you know that everytime you say hurtful things to yourself in your mind that your blood pressure rises, your body releases harmful cortisol and the pain centers of your brain are activiated? In fact, your brain and body react to abusive self-talk in exactly the same way as it would if a loved one were saying those things directly to you. The path to a sense of well-being is to redirect negaitive thoughts and embrace self-compassion in the moment. By practicing this gentle shift of perspective, we rewire our brains and open our hearts to a more fulfilling and more peaceful life.
